“If she’s for the streets, don’t cuff her” Ferlando Young Warns With His Latest Single #WithIt

Hip-Hop’s recent history is marked with change that is still met with resistance, albeit mainstream adopting the doctrine of vocal instrumentation. Whether it’s old heads complaining about the new school with its bright colors, emotive nuances, and the use of autotune, be it for mumble rap or melodic rap, purists can’t fight the urge to resist.

It took me some time to adapt my ears and effectively adopt the new sonic landscape of hip-hop into my day-to-day life. When the paradigm shifted accordingly, I realized that one could grow to appreciate autotune when it is done right.

Autotune is delicate, it requires an optic technique that evolves your musicality when it is not being treated as a cheat code, and Ferlando Young is tweaking his voice to such a cadence one mastered record at a time.

“#WithIt” The lead single to #MakeItOut Slated for release on the 26th of November, is a stellar example of how Ferlando has not only grown his mainstream pen but continues to refine his sound engineering respecting each plugin and being meticulous with attention to detail.

With witty bars like “* Insert Sneeze *, Bless You, Thinking She Yours God Bless You” lando relays a if you cuff, cuff carefully word of caution because whenever The Prince of The 3rd meets your girl in the streets and tells her the night is Young, there’s fun to be had and he could change her life if she’s with it, she naturally follows suit.

A fun, energetic Tik Tok song, #WithIt exudes an exciting contradiction: production that appeals to our kinetic intellect inviting the audience to turn up, mosh pit, take off your shirts and throw your middle finger to the pandemic while lacing a humorous tale of the young wild and free for the mind to feast on when you roll one at 2 AM because all them Jager Bombs and you still ain’t knocked The Fuck Out (Congrats, You’re a Real One).

In Collaboration with OneSession LIVE Ferlando is slated to have an #MakeItOut EP Launch on the 22nd of November at Kitcheners in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. With Supporting acts such as Lord Script, Tapegang, and Flowerboyz, it’s primed to be a memorable night.
