A New Age Frequency of Hope

I will be the first to admit this album, has proved yet again the power of not only talent but the correct traction on social media. What caught my attention through a passing tweet with an attractive album cover led to an album that made me call my partner at 2AM just to tell her I love her and I thank her for encouraging me to heal things with my father.

Worthy of your time: https://fanlink.to/Thandonje-Frequency

A diamond in the rough, arguably a combination of Jill Scott, Anita Baker, Jhene Aiko And Erykah Badu not in terms of how she sounds but the healing frequency she sents me to from the very first song. Amazed that ThandoNJe is South African yet her NewAge soul sound carrying a spirit from another lifetime to our present wavelength was just the refreshing music we needed in this age of fast paced trap beats which have a shelf life of no more than 3 weeks.

Dream.Believe.Do Records has blessed us with a whole new caliber of music, and with this kind of organic sonic treatment, smooth African melodies that appeal to an international audience one can only be nothing less than grateful for each and every song on this project, from the first word to the last note in the sound engineering.

Tell me you don’t want to listen to her album after listening to this.

Pholisa umoya wami found me at a time where me and my dad was on the outs, where drugs drugs had consumed me and I had but only recently got my act together, confessed to my father the other things I did to him (thinking I don’t know but he knew) after so many years of anger and turmoil that I am only now starting to heal from, Pholisa feels like a song my dad wrote to my soul and was Pieced together by Thando only to be delivered on My Spotify

Within the first 30 seconds of listening to this album I immediately followed Thando on both my Spotify and Twitter relishing in the nostalgia that came flooding in as soon as When We Were Young started playing, my partner has to forgive for this but this song took me straight back to my very first relationship in grade 3 (yes kids baby boy been pimping)

Moonshine

This song reminded me what I am fighting for, who really matters, that book I promised myself I would write, the poems I promised to distribute on Spotify and publish with Word and Sound, that rap album I always wanted to make, when we were young made me believe that my dreams are valid which I feel is the motto of Dream.Believe.Do Records.

I actually had to go back to this song that has a new age feel that is reminiscent of an Erykah Badu feel yet with a cadence that will speak to our generation. It felt like Healing with a heartbeat, healing by feeling your heartbeat, Be okay has that kick that has a heartbeat rhythm how fast your heart would beat when you are nervous about that first date, the first kiss, the first time you fall in-love with someone the first time you get intimate with them

Pray

Saying South Africa is in a beautiful space musically and the future is colored with hope would be somewhat of an understatement. If the future is ThandoNje then the future is Grammy worthy. I am absolutely looking forward to seeing this wonderful artist take her career as far as the stars will allow. May the Universe grant you endless tunes. Thank You for the music.
