Life At A Funeral

Three of the most anticipated talents who are breaking the boundaries of Hip-Hop in Pietermaritzburg have come together to make the city knock during this never ending Quarantine period with a song that will make you wipe your tears while they kill it!

Run it up: https://song.link/i/1505607249

From Xwaneo’s melodic cadence and ever so gripping wit’, to DeeKay who dares to fracture most male Ego’s with her Big Fish King Ting’s flows and Shamba roaring through the ambitions he has set for himself as an artist the unity of these multiverses , the smooth 808 slides with a smooth guitar that can seduce the prince of darkness back to Heaven this song is not one you want to pass listening to..

The Black John Lennon

What I appreciate this song is that it has the tune of the pop culture texture of trap we are experiencing yet is not a trap song at all, there is substance, there is lyricism there is wit there is hope that you can still rap despite the current texture of music. These three different worlds coming together in the name of moving the hip-hop culture of our city forward while solidifying their individual brands.

Man you gotta love the competition between the rappers the jabs which reinforces the competitive spirit of hip-hop which you won’t manage if you don’t have a thick skin. “Shamba ain’t a Lion no he ain’t if Xwaeno ain’t a G” who jabs someone he’s on a song with? “Niggas can’t match my drive I’m flying over speedhumps” if that is not an adequate response than what is? DeekayDidIt decided to silence everyone by stating only 5 niggas can’t get that call for a feature and most of us ain’t on that list period! Being in our feels, feeling touched, having a reason to bulk up your pen and make new flows is what the culture is built on!

Are you in the top 5 DeekayDidIt will call?

From the Production by Fastlane to the sound engineering (which I heavily suspect was done by Xwaeno himself, though I could be wrong yo) to the minimal yet demanding album cover this song promises to shake the airwaves and gets crowds moving when Mr 95 Agency Fanele Mthembu Blesses Us With Another Gong Fest. An Easy 5 Mics from Urban Divinity Media

Still shamba ranks, on every song!

Who else do you think should be on our radar with their new single? DM us on our socials or email Urbandivinity88@gmail.com with their press kit and links to their music.
