Whatever Comes, I Hope It Finds Me Praying.

If I could paint hope on the canvas of despair what would my colors sound like?” is a question singer, songwriter and Visual artist Malwande wakes up to ask herself on a daily bases

About The Musician

Malwande is an emerging soulful musician. She is a singer and a songwriter with a new sound; normally fused with pop, soul and an edgy Afro sound. Her music is about giving hope and simply appreciating life and its blessings. Malwande has always loved music, she started singing at a young age at her church. In her early days she used to form music groups from primary school.

She would sing at assembly along with her group members. In High school she joined the choir from grade 8, during her senior years in High school she later formed “RMG” a music group of really talented girls from different backgrounds.

This group lasted until the end if Matric. When she got to university she was part of forming another music group called Resonance, this is where she started performing live shows around Pietermaritzburg.

Healing the world through modern Psalms

At the end of her third year she decided to be a solo artist and worked on her solo album alongside her producer. She has performed at YMCA concert, Cornerstone church, the UKZN Hexagon dive “Music on a Tuesday”, Tea on 23 sessions, The classy poetry show, 95photography live sessions, Tapas sessions …to 3 date.

At her current church she helps out part time to lead the Sunday school and Youth choir. She aspires to be a well-known respected, financially stable musician, whose music gives hope to the people. She recently had her own event where she collaborated with emerging artists from around KZN.

This was her first Ep launch in November 2019. She is looking forward to doing more collaborations with different producers and musicians. Also is looking to do a lot of music tours around Africa, Europe, America and other countries.

Glory

Mountain

A song centred on rising above, finding yourself and taking recreating your throne in the face of adversity. Malwande sings herself out of rubbles and everything that has made her crumble, a heartbreak, a struggle, depression, sadness, loss of a loved one, any difficult time you have or currently are battling with. Any mountain that seems impossible to conquer is nothing will seem like nothing when you get your dose of upliftment after indulging your listening senses.

Qinisela

In the course of overcoming your mountain of turmoil, Malwande reminds you to stay strong and push through with her song Qinisela featuring Mawawa MC. This Piano led, harmonic husky, message driven song serves as a prayer. A prayer from a Devine being to you, one where God tells you to stay strong. Qinisela Black child your day is coming, the success destined for you, that job, that graduation, the one partner you will marry is already in your midst it is only a matter of time.

Whatever comes

Sometimes the road to success is not as smooth as it seems to be and quite often we forget to pray. Be it to Mvelinqangi through ancestors or to God through direct pray, whichever langauge and vehicle you use to communicate to the higher force, one can say for certain that anything can happen and life does not turn out the way you expect it. Whatever comes should find you praying, that no matter the turbulence there is a good outcome in the end. A song about consoling yourself and remembering to connect to the source in good and bad times because they all take place for a reason that will make sense to you at a later point in time, when you are mature enough to understand.
